Barca to swap Alba for Rose

Today’s rumours start with the rather unlikely news that Barcelona want to swap Jordi Alba for Tottenham’s Danny Rose.

According to the glorious El Gol Digital, Ernesto Valverde has lost faith in Alba, despite his five assists in 12 La Liga games this season, and wants Rose instead.

Rose is valued at €50 million but Barca are considering a swap involving Alba, a deal which has Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino’s approval. Apparently.

Barcelona keeping tabs on Aouar

Moving swiftly on, we head over to L’Equipe who report that Barca are monitoring Lyon teenager Houssem Aouar.

The club have already been in touch with the player’s representatives to see if he is ready to consider leaving Lyon.

The 19-year-old central midfielder has one goal and two assists in nine Ligue 1 starts this season with Barca considering him as one for the future and not a January deal.

Mascherano gives Barcelona ultimatum

Over at Mundo Deportivo, the talk is of Javier Mascherano issuing Barca with an ultimatum over his future.

The Argentine is determined to leave this winter, despite the injury to Samuel Umtiti, and has told Barca he wants an answer on his future by Thursday.

Barcelona don’t want him to leave but it seems Mascherano wants to go, with the Chinese Super League the most likely destination.

Goretzka wants Barcelona move

And finally, good old Don Balon go with a report that Schalke’s Leon Goretzka has told Barcelona to be patient as he contemplates his future.

The midfielder is wanted by several top clubs but is one of president Josep Maria Bartomeu’s top targets.

Goretzka says he will make a final decision on his future in January, his current contract with Schalke expires at the end of June.
